I Want To Be Your Accounting Backhoe
When does winter begin?
When autumn leaves.
We live up in Canada about an hour west of Toronto. Our winters are not as cold and snowy as many folks think (I always hold up Chicago and Minneapolis as the gold standards for cold in the US and Ottawa for Canada).
But this year it was both cold and very snowy.
Because we live on a lakeside point down a private one-kilometre lane, we pay for snow plowing, so we are usually in good shape to get off the point. And then, we use ATVs and utility vehicles (UVs) with blades to clear the driveways and trails. But this year, the snow just kept on a coming. And coming, and coming…
The ATVs and UVs were dropping like flies out here (we have a community of twenty homes) from the amount of snow. Four-wheel systems stopped four-wheeling, and the blades were too low to push the snow up high enough to get it out of the way. Even our plow service couldn’t move the snow out of the way enough to keep our lane a two-way.
Our lane, driveways and trails were becoming narrower by the day until we finally had to bring out the big-boy toys. Our plow service came with their backhoe to lift and move the snow out of the way, creating big honkin’ snowbanks in our backfield. And my Dad (also my neighbour) got his backhoe out to start piling up the snow from our trails and driveways.
It reminded me of how some QBO files we see are so out of control that we do not have the capacity, tools, or specially skilled team members to clean them up. It’s a shame if these are the ones that could become perfect-fit long-term client files, but we can’t take them on because the front-end cleanup is too onerous for the resources we have.
I want to be your accounting backhoe. I want to take the heavy lifting of overwhelming QBO files off your firm.
I love taking on the QBO clean-up files, and I am dang good at it. I’ve done lots of them; setting them up to hand back to accounting firms for audits, financing and sales scenarios, government representation, and long-term relationships.
I would also love to clean up your firm’s own books (if you need it), as well free you from the time & pressure of keeping them up every month.
I'm all ears if you want to talk to me about this. Give me a call (519-658-1158), email me (kellie@calmwaters.ca) or book 15-minutes for a bit of face-to-face time.
If you have the capacity but just need a little lift with processes, I have this little beauty of a template for you.
Kellie :-}
One of my skills outside of bookkeeping is that I can operate almost anything on wheels. I love me a good ATV/UV tear through a field, and I can operate big equipment like backhoes, highhoes, excavators and the like. I even know the difference between them all. Not particularly useful for business, but a heck of a lot of fun in real life.
